Committees

In order to carry out all the projects that our club is involved with throughout the year, each member is asked to join one or more committees.

Club Service Projects
Post, Dave
The Club Service Projects Committee assesses community needs and develops projects to meet those needs. Activities include Adopt-a-Highway clean up, assisting with a senior citizen clean up project, ringing the Salvation Army bell during the Holiday Season, donating cleaning products gift baskets to individuals leaving the Liberty Center, coordinating the School of Hope Dance, assisting with Community Christmas, working on the shirt drive for Fremont City Schools, collecting food for the Food Pantry, and collecting beverage can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.
Endowment
Schwarzbek, Bart
The Endowment Committee manages the club's endowment fund. Proceeds from the endowment are used for the purpose of furthering those stated objectives of Kiwanis Club International within the structure of the Kiwanis Club of Fremont.
Financial Review
Holland, Rick
The Financial Review Committee annually reviews the club's financial records.
Fundraising
Bowlus, Tom
The Fundraising Committee organizes fundraising activities for the Kiwanis administrative fund. The activities may include organizing OSU vs Michigan and Super Bowl boards, organizing the Kiwanis Christmas Auction and miscellaneous auctions at club meetings, organizing the March Madness Basketball pool, College Bowl Picks, Mother's Day Flower Sale and Scarecrow 5K Run.
Human & Spiritual Values
Miller, Jerri
The purpose of the Human & Spiritual Values Committee is to connect human and spiritual values with Kiwanis members. Activities include planning spiritual programs for luncheon meetings, scheduling greeters and invocators, recognizing member birthdays and anniversaries, supporting sick members, and remembering those members who have passed away.
Inter-Club
Vanyo, Frank
The Inter-Club Committee coordinates visits to other Kiwanis Clubs in Division 12 and participation in other multi-Kiwanis Club activities.
Membership
Rice, Dan
The Membership Committee focuses on the recruitment and retention of Kiwanis members. Activities include member inductions, new member orientation and membership metrics.
Public Relations
Gerber, Pat
The Public Relations Committee is responsible for promoting the Kiwanis Club of Fremont and its club projects. Activities include securing speakers for weekly luncheon meetings, erecting the Holiday display at Winter Wonderland, providing a monthly newsletter, managing a Facebook site, submitting news releases to the News-Messenger, managing the Sandusky County Fair Grandstand seating, participating in local parades, constructing and maintaining Kiwanis playground signs in city parks and maintaining a city entrance sign on East State Street.
Service Leadership Program
Holland, Rick
The Service Leadership Committee coordinates and encourages members of the Kiwanis sponsored Key Clubs, Builders Clubs and Aktion Clubs to participate in their own club as well as Kiwanis Club related activities. Activities include coordinating the attendance of Kiwanis meetings, coordinating the participation in events like the Pancake Festival, Peanut Days, Salvation Army bell ringing, and the Sandusky County Fairground peanut sales.
Young Children Priority One
Combs, Linda
Young Children Priority One Committee coordinates projects that benefit children ages 0-5. Activities include collecting books and managing lending libraries, purchasing items to be used in the Head Start Home Based Program, purchasing stuffed bears for the Sheriff Department to use for children in emergency situations, holding a community baby shower and storybook festival, donating shirts for kindergartners, assisting with repairs at the Village House, and donating Heartbeat Baby Briefcases.
Youth Services
Kolodziejczyk, Jason
Youth Services Committee coordinates projects to benefit children ages 5-18. Activities include providing hot chocolate for students in the school safety patrol program, coordinating the School of Hope Movie Day, sponsoring the Punt, Throw & Kick competition, providing t-shirts to youth volunteers, sponsoring Buckeye Boys State and a little league baseball team, financing key club and builders club lunches during visits to Kiwanis meetings, and sponsoring the BUG (Bring Up Grades) Program.
